Please include the requesting agency, the name and contact information of the requesting official, a valid return email address, the specific account identifiers at issue (such as the username, email address, or profile URL), and the specific records sought and the time period. We may require reasonable time to review, validate, and respond, and we may object to requests that are overbroad, vague, or legally deficient.

Legal process required

The type of legal process required depends on the category of information sought under applicable law, including the Stored Communications Act (18 U.S.C. § 2701 et seq.):

• Basic subscriber information (such as the name, email address, and account-creation details a user provided) — generally requires a valid subpoena, court order, or equivalent legal process.
• Non-content records (such as transactional or log records) — generally requires a court order (for example, under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d)) or equivalent legal process.
• Content of communications (such as messages, posts, vouches, or uploaded media) — generally requires a valid search warrant issued on probable cause, or equivalent legal process.

We produce only records within our possession and control, and only the specific records that valid process requires. Some information may not exist or may no longer be retained (see our Privacy Policy).

Preservation requests

We honor valid preservation requests under 18 U.S.C. § 2703(f) to preserve records we have at the time of the request for up to 90 days, extendable for one additional 90-day period upon a renewed request. Send preservation requests to info@candortheapp.com with the relevant account identifiers. A preservation request does not itself require us to disclose records; disclosure requires appropriate legal process.

Emergency disclosure

If there is an emergency involving a danger of death or serious physical injury to any person, we may voluntarily disclose information to law enforcement when we believe in good faith that disclosure without delay is necessary to prevent that harm, consistent with 18 U.S.C. § 2702. To submit an emergency request, email info@candortheapp.com with “EMERGENCY” in the subject line and describe the nature of the emergency, the specific harm, and the identifiers involved.

User notification

Our policy is to notify users of requests for their information before disclosure so they may seek to protect their rights, unless we are prohibited from doing so by law or court order, or unless we determine in our discretion that notice would be counterproductive or would create a risk to safety (for example, in matters involving child safety, an emergency, or an imminent threat).

Child safety and NCMEC

Candor has zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation of children. When we become aware of apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child exploitation on the Service, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by law, and we may preserve related material and cooperate with NCMEC and law enforcement. Related conduct is prohibited under our Acceptable Use Policy.

International requests

Vouched App, Inc. is a U.S. company. Requests from authorities outside the United States should generally be submitted through a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT), letter rogatory, or other recognized channel of international legal cooperation, unless a valid emergency applies. We evaluate international requests under U.S. law and applicable legal process.
